vetur means winter

Pattern: Vetur by Védís Jónsdóttir
Yarn: Unspun Lopi wool, 2 strands
Needles: 4.5 mm and 5.5 mm

A great way to motivate oneself when knitting against time considering, lets say, a certain birthday next week, is to relish in progress already made in another Finished Object. For the Lopi wool sweater is finished! And photographed with it's rightful owner modelling it while playing soccer with Úlfur in the backyard. Tumi is Oddur's younger brother and a great friend. He chose the pattern and colors himself, I only did the knitting. I think his taste is superb! Also, the pattern is super fun to knit, I want do make another one someday. It's called "Vetur" which means winter due to it's warmth because the thread is double all the way since there is color work in the body and sleeves. Very warm indeed. And winter IS coming, you know, at least for a few months every year here in Iceland... thankfully, it is not half as long and scary as in Westeros!
